What to Expect at Your First ED Consultation?

For most men, the hardest part of dealing with ED isn't the treatment, it's walking through the door. If you've been putting off getting help because you don't know what to expect, or you're dreading an awkward conversation, this page removes the mystery. Here is exactly what happens, step by step.

100% Confidential No Referral Needed Judgement-Free
Book Your Consultation

Before You Arrive

Booking is simple and private. Call, WhatsApp, or use the contact form, whichever feels most comfortable. You don't need a referral, and you don't need to explain anything in detail when booking.

What to Bring

  • A list of any medications or supplements you take (photos of the packaging work fine)
  • Anything you know about existing conditions blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, if you have recent numbers
  • Your questions. Write them down; men often forget them in the moment.

What NOT to Worry About

You don't need to rehearse a speech. You don't need medical vocabulary. "It's not working the way it used to" is a perfectly good opening line, we take it from there.

The Consultation Itself

1

A Private, Unhurried Conversation

Your consultation is one-on-one with the practitioner in a private room. We'll talk through how the problem presents: when it started, whether it's every time or situational, morning erections, desire levels, and what's changed in your life and health. This conversation does most of the diagnostic work, the pattern of symptoms usually points clearly toward vascular, hormonal, psychological or mixed causes.

2

Health and Lifestyle Picture

We go through your broader health: existing conditions, medications (several common ones affect erections), sleep, stress, alcohol, smoking, exercise. No lectures, this is information-gathering, not judgement.

3

Honest Assessment

You'll get a plain-language explanation of what we believe is driving your ED and why. If anything in your picture suggests you should also see a medical doctor, for example, signs pointing to cardiovascular or blood-sugar issues, we will tell you directly. That's a commitment, not a disclaimer.

4

Your Personalised Programme

If natural treatment suits your situation, we'll set out your programme: what it involves, what it targets, realistic timelines, and cost. You'll leave understanding your plan, and under no pressure to decide anything on the spot.

After Your Consultation

You begin your programme with clear guidance, and follow-ups track progress and adjust the protocol. You'll always know what stage you're at and what comes next.

Frequently Asked Questions

“Will it be embarrassing?” Less than you fear. This is all we do, there is nothing you can say that the practitioner hasn't heard many times. Most men report the overwhelming feeling afterwards is relief.

“Is it confidential?” Completely. Your visit, your conversation, and your programme stay between you and the practice.

“Do I need my partner to come?” No, though partners are welcome if you'd find it helpful. Some men prefer to come alone first and involve their partner later.

“What if it turns out to be 'in my head'?” Then you'll finally know, and psychological ED is real, common, and very treatable. There is no version of the consultation where understanding your situation leaves you worse off.

Take the First Step, Confidentially

You've just learned more about ED than most men ever do. If you'd like to understand your own situation, what type, what causes, what to do about it, book a confidential consultation at our Sandton practice.
